It helps other developers and investors realize their own projects by providing design & construction, financial and marketing consulting. Through both of these endeavours, I hope to make the places around me more beautiful, more livable and more accessible for all.

Amanat Properties focuses on redeveloping historic properties, with a focus on condominiums, multifamily and mixed-use. I look for architecturally significant townhouses, apartment buildings and commercial buildings properties built before the 1950s, with deferred maintenance, subpar operations, poor renovations and under-built zoning envelopes. Total transaction sizes range from $2.0 to $4.0M. My business plan is to renovate, repurpose, extend and restore properties. I focus on efficient CAPEX plans with a 1 year development period. In the case of rental properties, we typically hold assets for 5 years. I look for valuable tax strategies, including Opportunity Zones and Historic Tax Credits.

WHO I AM
My name is Atif Z. Qadir, AIA and I am a licensed architect with 13 years of development, construction and architecture experience from top New York City firms, including Extell Development, Turner Construction and Gwathmey Siegel Kaufman & Associates Architects (firm formerly known as Gene Kaufman Architect PC). I am an alumnus of MIT's School of Architecture and Planning and Columbia Business School. I am also active in the local community as a city planning commissioner and non-profit leader.
I assemble locally-based, highly-skilled teams for each project, including innovative consultants who can maximize a historic building's potential, lenders that focus on redevelopment and investors who believe that attractive financial returns and community building can go hand-in-hand. Amanat means "held in trust" in the Urdu language and that is how I see each of my projects.
